语言学系开设了辅修课程:向讲其他语言的人教授英语. All students interested in completing the minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages must complete a minimum of 24 credits of course work. 该课程也可以由PreK-12教师作为学士学位后完成. The courses required for the minor are:

• ALS 4438 - Curriculum, Material Design, Assessment, and Compliance (4)

La Casa Amiga Adult Education Program
自1998年以来, 十大菠菜台子语言学系与La Casa Amiga(西班牙语外展Pontiac)合作开展了一项成人教育外展计划，为多语言学习者免费提供英语课程. 十大菠菜台子语言学系英语作为第二语言证书课程(TESOL)的研究生和本科生在La Casa Amiga完成他们的学生教学. 实习教师获得宝贵的教学经验和社区服务带来的成就感.

Avondale School District Summer Program
每年6月的最后一周至7月中旬，在Avondale学区为1-12年级的学生提供英语语言课程，时间为周一至周四上午8:30至12:00. 这些课程由十大菠菜台子语言学系的本科和研究生水平的PreK-12职前教师辅修英语向其他语言的教授. 这些学生都完成了密歇根教育部认可的“向其他语言的人教授英语”(TESOL)的要求. 教师计划课程以提高学生在阅读的四个技能领域用英语交流的能力, 写作, speaking and listening.
